Dualcoms has announced its strategy to build a solid channel network for its introduction of the SEVEN Always-On Mail mobility solution into Africa.
SEVEN "Always-On Mail" Enterprise and Professional options are two of the easy-to-use mobile office solutions being offered for channel distribution. The Enterprise solution requires a Microsoft office or Lotus Notes environment to operate, and the Professional operates in a Microsoft Exchange environment only.
Enterprise
The Enterprise solution is designed for the larger corporate (25 users and up), where the office outlook experience is effectively mirrored on the compatible handset. Included in this functionality is e-mail, calendar changes, meeting requests, contacts and global address list access. Every function is pushed in a real-time basis, and every action on the handset is mirrored on your desktop.
Professional
The Professional edition is designed to cater for the smaller SME market, where the client is running Microsoft Exchange in an outsourced hosted environment, or has its own exchange but has a smaller user group. E-mail, calendaring and meeting requests are pushed in a real-time basis.
According to Dualcoms CEO, Andrew Dawson, the company is seeking channel partners to assist in distributing the Enterprise and Professional solution into South Africa as well as across the continent. The cost-efficiency and ease of deployment of the solution makes it perfect for a volume-based distribution. Having the right channel partners will help create the volume based model we are looking for, while allowing our channel to enhance their own offering to its client base.
"We foresee the adoption of SEVEN Always-On Mail across Africa as being considerable. By providing access to e-mail, PIM functions and desktop applications anywhere and at any time on their mobile phones, mobile sales forces and remote workers can operate at a higher performance level and need not be tied to the office for critical and timely information."
"The cost-effectiveness and ease-of use of SEVEN Always-On Mail solution, coupled with the growing number of mobile workers and greater adoption of mobile devices locally, will ensure organisations across South Africa and the rest of the continent will be eager to adopt this offering, providing our future channel partners with huge market opportunities," says Dawson.
The patented tunnelling technology behind SEVEN Always-On Mail enables users to deploy the solution without having to install integrated servers and make complicated firewall changes, making it feasible for a non-technical user to benefit from its features immediately. It brings all the key components that users are familiar with when using Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes on their desktop and provides access to them via a compatible handset. SEVEN has one of the largest arrays of compatible handsets in this space, including the Nokia 60 AND 80 series, Symbian UIQ operating system and any of the Microsoft-enabled PDA or smart phones.
Says Dawson: "SEVEN Always-On Mail is running on 128-bit AES encryption technology, making it one of the most secure solutions worldwide. The fact that some of the largest European banks use the solution is testimony to its security features."
