Dubai bank simplifies utility payment
Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and Dubai Bank have rolled out an electronic bill payment facility, reports AME Info.
The e-billing facility enables customers to use Dubai Bank's Internet and phone banking services as well as ATMs to make payments towards their utility bills.
Mohamed Amiri, head of retail banking at Dubai Bank, says: “As a financial partner to our customers, Dubai Bank aims to make day-to-day financial transactions easy for them. Our agreement with ADDC is yet another step forward in maximising the potential of our electronic banking channels. This will bring greater ease and speed when paying for utilities.”
CTP upgrades e-billing tool
The e-billing service provider CTP Solutions has added a data import tool which allows bill recipients to download billing data received from their supplier, directly into their accounting packages, states eMedia Wire.
Users can have access to their billing data via a secure online Web site where they can view, print, download and pay their bills.
According to CTP, many businesses have opted out of receiving paper bills and choose to get their invoicing data by e-mail because of the ability to download these invoices into their accounting system.
E-billing brings cost benefits
Financial services tech vendor Fiserv has released a study confirming the positive impact of electronic billing, says TMCnet.
Conducted by Aspen Marketing Services on behalf of Fiserv, the study evaluated data from 8 million Qwest Communications residential customers over an 18-month period.
The study found that 74% of customers who use e-billing receive a deduction from their bank account.
