Dubai Land Dept digitises documents
The Dubai Land Department has digitalised all its documents by implementing a FileNet Document Management Solution, according to AME Info.
Over 1.5 million pages representing the backlog of paper documentation have already been migrated to a FileNet system and an additional 3.5 million pages are set to be added from the on-going New Dubai real-estate project.
"FileNet`s document management solution helped Dubai Land Department successfully overcome several challenges, which included fragmentation of information as a result of data being scattered in various systems and forms, slow customer transaction processing time, and the need to meet increasing regulations," adds the article.
EMC links CMS to software
EMC has integrated content and digital rights management software from two of its acquisitions in an effort to give companies better control over their data, writes CIO Today.
EMC has released a new version of its Records Manager software, which was developed by Documentum before it was acquired by the storage vendor in late 2003.
Further, EMC also added a package combining content management capabilities with digital rights management technology that it obtained through its acquisition of Authentica in February.
Records Manager 5.3 and the Information Rights Management (IRM) Services can be used together to apply security protections and permissions to unstructured data stored in a Documentum repository, says Lubor Ptacek, a marketing director at EMC.
