Palm Island, the world`s most spectacular new property development, has selected Oracle software to streamline its business processes. The luxurious new resort, known as The Palm, will implement three modules of Oracle`s E-Business Suite - Oracle* Financials, Oracle Property Manager and Oracle Telesales - to improve its operational efficiency and give better customer service levels.
The Palm is said to be visible from outer space with the naked eye, due to its vast scale and unique date-palm shape. The breathtaking design incorporates the ideal geometry for creating the maximum beachfront. The sheer scale of the project is unparalleled: if all the fill materials used to build The Palm were placed end to end, they would create a wall two metres high and half a metre thick, circling the earth three times. Football stars David Beckham and Michael Owen are among the celebrities with apartments in the resort.
Oracle Property Manager is the cornerstone of the Palm Island automation project. It offers the ability to support lease execution from both the tenant and landlord perspectives and addresses the needs of corporate real estate management, commercial property management, retail/franchise operations and real estate investment trusts (REITs).
Wahid Attala, Operations Director of Nakheel, the developer behind the project, said: "Service is proving to be a key differentiator in this region`s increasingly competitive property sector. Palm Island`s aggressive e-business project aims to achieve a more integrated approach to serving our customers through a multitude of channels while improving our operational efficiency by streamlining our internal business processes.
"Oracle`s Property Manager will provide us with a single, up-to-the-minute view of our client base, enabling us to create more targeted sales offerings while providing enhanced service capabilities and reducing operating costs."
Nakheel is also deploying Oracle`s applications in the rest of its projects, including The World Island, Jumeirah Island, Jumeira Lake Towers, The Gardens, The Gardens Shopping Mall and International City.
Husam Dajani, Vice-President of Oracle Middle East, commented: "Palm Island is an ideal example of a leading Middle East-based company rolling out a single, integrated solution to automate business processes, both externally and internally, for greater customer satisfaction as well as increased efficiency. Nakheel`s selection of Oracle Property Manager is allowing the company to manage customer interactions efficiently, analyse customer preferences and build a successful marketing, sales and service strategy."
Oracle Consulting is managing the implementation of E-Business Suite at Palm Island, drawing on the software company`s extensive expertise in the property development and management sector. A large number of property development and management organisations have already adopted Oracle E-Business Suite in the Middle East, including Emaar Properties, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Al Ghurair Group and Seef Properties.
