Avaya Inc, a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, today announced that De Lotto, a Dutch lottery organisation, has deployed Avaya IP telephony solutions at its head office in Rijswijk, the Netherlands.
By using the new technology, De Lotto, well known in the Netherlands for games such as Lotto, Lucky Day, Toto and Krasloten, is expecting to increase efficiency and simplify the management of its numerous contacts with consumers and resellers. Avaya Gold BusinessPartner, CSS Telecom, installed and managed the project.
De Lotto protected its infrastructure investments by upgrading its existing Avaya PBX to an IP-enabled communications server. Integrating the separate networks for its Internet and voice traffic into a single converged system will lower communications costs and simplify network management procedures. With the protection of sensitive information also a pre-requisite for De Lotto, a number of Avaya security solutions, including encryption, were also installed.
By using the Avaya IP solutions, De Lotto is also aiming to further improve customer service from its contact centre by reducing call queues and enabling increased flexibility to meet ever-changing workloads. The Avaya system`s routing enhancements will allow calls to be answered more quickly, even during peak times. Employees who move desks internally can simply plug in their PC or phone anywhere in the office and still be reached on their direct number. This eliminates the need for reconfiguration and enhances mobility and flexibility.
De Lotto selected IP telephony and call centre functionality from the Avaya MultiVantage Communications Applications portfolio. The Avaya solutions were delivered and implemented by Avaya Gold BusinessPartner CSS Telecom. CSS guarantees an availability of 99.999%, which ensures business continuity.
Richard Binnekamp, Manager ICT at De Lotto, commented: "With the Avaya IP telephony and switching solutions, and CSS`s overall management of the project, we now have a scalable communications environment which enables us to address the future growth of our voice and data traffic. It was also key for us to protect our existing communications investments which we were successfully able to do by building on existing Avaya hardware. The high availability guarantee, provided by CSS Telecom, ensuring reliable and continuous communications with our customers and resellers, is for us absolutely business-critical."
According to Tonko Wedda, channel director at Avaya Nederland, De Lotto made an excellent choice when selecting CSS. "CSS Telecom is a proven specialist in Avaya IP telephony solutions and has vast experience in large and complex implementations."

In 2003 De Lotto contributed over 60 million euros to these charities. 43 million euros of this amount went to NOC*NSF to finance top and amateur sport.
