Duxbury Networking has been appointed the regional distributor for US-based Pivot3, a vendor targeting the data protection, digital surveillance and rich media markets.
“Pivot3 is a key supplier of IP SANs (Internet protocol storage area networks) to the video surveillance market, and its current range of unified, highly available scale-out storage devices and virtual server appliances will complement our existing product line-up of wired, wireless, voice and mobile connectivity offerings in the networking arena,” says Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking.
“Pivot3 also gives us the software technology to radically simplify virtual servers, shared storage devices and networks, and thus drive down complexity and cost in virtualisation, federated database and other applications.
“Because Pivot3 appliances run on commodity hardware, they eliminate many of the cost constraints commonly associated with legacy shared storage and converged computing alternatives,” he adds.
The founders of Pivot3 have won numerous awards based on their applied expertise in RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) technology. The vendor was most recently selected by The Wall Street Journal for inclusion in the prestigious '2011 Next Big Thing' category.
