Confirming its position as one of SA`s leading manufacturers and distributors of modems, Duxbury Networking announced a 30% increase in modem sales for 2002.
Graham Duxbury, managing director of Duxbury Networking, says this growth is significant, especially in a year that was plagued by slow IT spend.
"This figure is truly encouraging and a positive start for 2003, which - if analyst predictions are anything to go on - will see an increase in IT sales."
The growth also confirms that modems remain a prominent communications enabler in today`s Internet-driven economy.
One of the main reasons for this growth is that South Africans have in the past two years become increasingly reliant on connectivity at home, not only using their modems for leisurely purposes but to run businesses.
"Modems provide home workers with the flexibility and functionality needed to efficiently conduct business - without costly infrastructure expenditure," says Duxbury.
"We also offer home-grown technologies, which translates into significant cost savings and excellent availability," says Duxbury.
Duxbury modems are designed and developed by Duxbury engineers, tailor-made to suit South African conditions and needs. The company specialises in high quality dial-up, leased-line and rack-based modem technologies.
