Duxbury Networking has released two broadband ADSL2+ gateway products within its Tenda range of products - the D840R, a wired router, and the wireless W548D ADSL2+ router.
The solutions offer performance for an affordable price, and are geared towards the SOHO and SME markets, the company says.
Andy Robb, CTO of Duxbury Networking, says these products were released now, in expectation of an increase in broadband in SA with the arrival of the Seacom cable. “The Duxbury Tenda D840R is a wired ADSL2+ router supporting data speeds of up to 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream, while the Tenda W548D is a wireless solution sporting the same data speeds, but includes a 54Mbps access point for wireless connectivity.”
The D840R supports multiple network protocols and provides network address translation router, bridge and switch functions with a built-in 4-port switch for adding more users, the company says.
The wireless solution also incorporates a USB host port, allowing for the linkage of an external hard drive for shared storage in a networked environment, notes Robb.
Security is no problem, because of multiple data encryption mechanisms and IP and MAC address filtering, all while being remotely managed, he concludes.
