Duxbury training goes generic

Johannesburg, 17 Feb 2005

The Duxbury Networking Training Academy is to offer "generic", product-independent training covering a broad spectrum of networking technologies, including wireless networking.

These Duxbury-certified programmes - bundled to reduce costs - will be offered in addition to the company`s regular vendor-specific and customised training classes.

The training is aimed at both resellers and end-users, and is targeted at delegates with a basic networking knowledge.

The new programmes consists of four days of classroom-based, instructor-led training covering topics such as:

* Layers of the OSI Model
* VLANs
* Hubs and switches
* Ethernet
* TCP/IP
* SNMP
* Routers and routing
* Introduction to wireless
* Advanced networking

Successful candidates will gain accreditation as Duxbury Certified Engineers.

The cost is R4 000 per person (excluding VAT).

Duxbury also provides technical training on Clearswift, Proxim, Netgear and HP products as well as Enterasys-authorised programmes in preparation for the internationally recognised Enterasys System Engineer certification.

Additionally, Duxbury is running parallel education programmes for previously disadvantaged communities, including basic computer career orientation for a number of Soweto-based schools.
