Following in the footsteps of its very stable, very successful older brother, the LG GSA-4160 - the new GSA-4163 mainstream dual-layer DVD+/-RW burner has to meet high expectations. And it delivers.
To the good reputation and stability of its predecessor, the GSA-4163, available through Annex Distribution, adds greater writing speeds and new functions including dual-layer writing and DVD-RAM support.
With very quiet operation, low heat dissipation and excellent burning quality, this internal DVD burner from LG makes a good choice for mainstream users who need a fast, high-quality burning drive.
Burning speeds include:
16x burn speed for the DVD-R and DVD+R formats
8x burn for DVD-RW and 6x for the DVD+RW
40x burn speed for the CD-R Dual-layer DVD+Rs (the available 2.4x media already permit to be burned at 6x) particularly, DVD-R DL burning and high DVD rewrite speeds) due to the absence of the appropriate media.
"Dual-layers present an increased storage capacity that almost doubles the 4.7GB currently available on a DVD recordable to 8.5GB. This added functionality is a key selling point and the latest available technology in storage infrastructure," says Chris Anderson, LG product manager at Annex Distribution.
"In short, if the goal is to burn discs quickly and effectively, the GSA-4163 is the best choice for today," adds Anderson.
