As a member of the Thomson Reuters Elite Partner Program, DVT Emerald Consulting, a specialist subsidiary of software and services provider DVT, has officially launched the comprehensive legal practice management software suite, Lawsoft, in South Africa.
DVT Emerald hosted a countrywide roadshow, which demonstrated Lawsoft to an audience of legal practice professionals in the region. The roadshow included a comprehensive presentation of the software by Thomson Reuters Elite Account Manager and Lawsoft specialist Andy Hawley.
DVT Emerald Consulting MD Hanri Edwards says Lawsoft is aimed at firms with up to 400 professionals that are looking for a complete practice management solution from a single supplier.
"Lawsoft opens up a market for which we can now provide a powerful, cost-effective solution," says Edwards.
"For the first time there is a complete integrated legal management solution available in South Africa that includes document management, CRM, time recording, billing and integrated general ledger and accounts payable functionality.
"The software also integrates with other industry-standard software suites to provide a seamless workflow experience at every stage of the legal process and for every department in the law firm, from the admin desk to senior management."
Speaking at the roadshow in Cape Town, Hawley prefaced his detailed demonstration of the Lawsoft workflow by suggesting that more and more firms are opting for integrated software suites rather than standalone software packages.
"In today's economy, profitability is key. Every action, however small, taken on behalf of a client needs to be captured inline, categorised and tallied, and that's a difficult task if multiple employees have to check in and out of multiple software systems," he says.
"To succeed, you need complete solutions that keep all of your processes, people, and information working together, not separately."
