DVT launches Radical User Group

Johannesburg, 25 Oct 2005

DVT, a black-empowered provider of business systems solutions and developer of the local business tool Radical, is to launch the Radical User Group at the Midrand Conference Centre on 27 October.

The motivation behind the creation of this user group is to establish a forum for users of the Radical solution to exchange knowledge; relate their experiences of the solution; share how it has impacted on their business and organisation; and pose questions to other companies and people involved in the use of the solution.

"Among Radical`s strongest features are its flexibility and customisability," says Paula Hocking, business development manager of Radical at DVT Gauteng. "This means that although organisations are using it in their help-desk or call centre environments or to perform contact logging, tracking, facilities management, or asset administration and management, there are no two applications that are the same.

"Radical is customised to fit one organisation`s specific needs, to address their particular dilemmas; and because these differ from one company to the next, the customisation for Radical for each organisation creates a broad base of user experiences, problem resolutions and customer success stories. There is more opportunity for shared user ideas in this user group than in many other packaged software environments today."

To be held quarterly, initially in the Gauteng region only, the user group will also serve as a forum for the demonstration of new Radical functionality; the presentation of applications developed by the group`s members; and seminars by DVT and related third-party vendors.

Ultimately, the users will run the user group independently, with DVT supporting the endeavour through the provision of appropriate speakers and facilities according to the group`s requests.

"This user group is a perfect vehicle for the creation of a collective voice that can address product issues, share enhancement opportunities and assist in improving Radical and what it has to offer users and the market," Hocking says.

Derek Hughes, CEO of DVT Gauteng, will introduce the first user group. Other presentations for that morning will include one by Estie du Preez from Advocate Solutions, on the implementation and customisation of Radical in her business; and Stephen Groenewald, support manager at DVT, who will offer tips and suggest tricks for Radical users.
