dY/dX (www.dydx.com), a premier provider of software to service providers (SPs), has announced that it is part of the Sun Microsystems` ServiceProvider.com Initiative unveiled earlier this year.
dY/dX`s range of innovative software products aimed at reducing the time and money SPs spend on routine administration, will form a crucial aspect of Sun `s ServiceProvider.com Initiative. The initiative was designed to empower service providers to create stronger, more flexible and more profitable business models for the increasingly network-based world.
"We are honoured to be a participant in Sun`s dynamic ServiceProvider.com Initiative, which, under Sun`s leadership, already represents an alliance of industry excellence. We are confident that SUN will very quickly evolve into the preferred supplier for the growing SP market," said dY/dX director Nevo Hadas. "Our v:serv range of administration automation software will complement Sun`s proven leadership in network computing, and particularly it `s strength in total cost of ownership (TCO) terms, to offer SPs turnkey solutions that will significantly enhance their service offering and net profitability."
dY/dX`s focus area is a suite of software products focused on the needs of the SP market. These products enable service providers to streamline their business operations through automation of services, like domain name registration.
For users, the dY/dX automation solutions offer an opportunity to manage themselves to a large extent - cutting turnaround time for cost of routine maintenance and site administration dramatically.
"Not only is dY/dX the first South African company to join SunTelco`s Strategic Alliance Program, it is the first to provide this type of automated web hosting software on the Sun/Solaris platform," said Bruce Baikie, strategic alliance manager for SunTelco. "Sun`s alliance with dY/dX is significant because it introduces the first automated web hosting offering based on the Solaris
Operating Environment into the ISP space. We`re excited about this relationship because it should enable Sun to continue to expand and strengthen its presence in the ISP space overall, and in the South African software development community in particular."
dY/dX has capitalised on the rapid growth of the SP market and has already positioned itself as a key player in the provision of services to international markets, and is recognised as providing unique solutions to SPs.
Building on Sun`s leadership in network computing, the ServiceProvider.com Initiative caters to the growing market of service providers, enabling them to deliver value-added services to customers of all kinds more flexibly, securely and profitably.
dY/dX
dY/dX (www.dydx.com), part of MB Technologies Internet division, aims to place ISPs in a totally automated environment. Some of the add-on services that ISPs provide are time consuming to set up and they require dedicated staff. The company`s premier offering, v:serv, allows a domain name registration to be almost instantly automated.
Founded in 1998 and based in Johannesburg South Africa, dY/dX has partnerships in the United Kingdom and is represented in the United States.
dY/dX`s flagship automated hosting software, v:serv has quickly been adopted by ISPs worldwide to reduce administration and costs.
In addition, dY/dX is developing "user-enabling" tools that are required by the international market. Some of these products make use of an internal e-commerce structure to manage upgrades, add-ons and licensing. This allows for a reduction in cost of sales and an easily accessible existing user base for new products.
