Dynamic management team takes StorTech into a new era

Johannesburg, 04 Jun 2013

Solutions and systems integration specialist, StorTech, is poised to enter a new era, following the appointment of Steven Hayward as CEO and backed by a dynamic and experienced management team. Hayward has big plans for the company, which include moving up the value chain in terms of service attachment and managed services, with the aim of growing revenue by more than 20% per annum over the next three years.

Hayward points out that StorTech, which historically has had a narrow focused range of capabilities, has diversified its technology range considerably over the past two years. Now with industry-leading skills and certifications across converged communications, data centre and managed services, StorTech is positioned to enter a sustainable growth phase supported by key vendor relationships developed with Symantec, Oracle, EMC, IBM, VMware, NetApp, Microsoft and Cisco.

"The management team has extensive experience across our range of specialised industry areas and this ideal mix of experience will drive our strategy forward and deliver value to our customers. Crucially, our depth of specialist technology skills provides for a unique customer service experience. We have also placed a strong focus on implementing the right processes and procedures to achieve our goals, while continually attracting the right people.

"Today, StorTech can offer customers a range of innovative solutions and services that deliver not only our core business of data centres, but also growth areas in the form of converged communications and managed services," says Hayward.

He explains that, as far as the data centre business goes, StorTech has always been known for its data storage and protection capabilities. With data growing exponentially in both size and importance, this will continue to be a key focus for the company.

"We have the vendor accreditations and the capabilities already; we are now building on our core strengths and leveraging our existing strong capabilities to move up the value chain and pursue what we see as a massive opportunity in the market."

He adds that as far as the company's two growth areas are concerned, StorTech has established a national footprint for its converged communications offering. The key differentiator for StorTech here will be its service level agreement (SLA) innovation, with the company building a unique SLA model, based on its existing specialist technology skills. It is also in the process of developing a Multinational CISCO Gold Partnership for Africa to enable SA enterprise expansion plans.

"Finally, we are also investing in the managed services business, in order to be able to scale properly with regard to this growth area. We understand that we cannot be a broad managed services player from the outset, so we are focusing on a very select range of solutions that we will offer managed services for.

"The future for us is definitely bright. Thanks to our enhanced operating model and structure, better marketing, improved end-to-end business processes, increased efficiencies, best practice end-to-end operational processes, and a rigorous focus on innovation and quality, we have refined our competitive edge. I believe our competition definitely needs to beware," concludes Hayward.
