E-billing aids reforestation project
DiGi Telecommunications is on a mission to raise funds to reforest up to 120 000 square metres of the Kinabatangan forest as part of its Deep Green initiative, says Daily Express.
The two-month campaign would see DiGi donating to World Wildlife Fund Malaysia for each postpaid customer who opts for electronic billing. With a mission to raise RM100 000 (R220 000), the contribution will be used to support the Kinabatangan Corridor of Life reforestation project.
DiGi head of product marketing, Loh Keh Jiat, said the initiative can reduce the climate impact of its customers and other key stakeholders by encouraging postpaid customers to receive their monthly statement electronically instead of the usual paper bills.
E-marketing campaigns slow on ROI
Jason Falls, online marketing consultant, says planning e-marketing campaigns on sites such as Facebook involve building relationships with consumers and so it takes time for businesses to feel the benefits of social media online marketing, says DirectNews.
"You'll spend way less money on social media executions than you would on print or television advertising, direct mail and so on, but social media rarely results in immediate returns on that investment," remarks Falls.
Bigmouthmedia's 2010 Travel Report revealed that 60% of travel firms plan to increase their social media and search engine optimisation budgets during the next 12 months.
