e-Retail solution targets large retailers

Eurostop has unveiled e-Retail, an innovative new solution designed to address the specific needs of very large retailers with branches in excess of 1 000 outlets, reports Fashion2Fibre.

E-Retail has been developed by Eurostop Shanghai. With head office features like stock control, warehouse, distribution, sales, merchandising and promotions, the system also includes fully integrated wholesale and franchise functionality.

Erke, an international sports brand and one of the largest sports retailers in China, has already signed up Eurostop's e-retail system for its 7 000 outlets across China.

GuestLogix signs 'breakthrough' agreement

Onboard technology company, GuestLogix has signed an agreement with a handheld inflight entertainment company which, it claims, provides a breakthrough in operators' inflight stores, states DFNI Online.

The agreement, signed this month, will integrate GuestLogix's retail technology and merchandising platform with digEcor's digEplayer products. According to GuestLogix, this will provide airlines revenue streams from merchandising, advertising, gaming and other sources.

Citing a survey published last month by Forrester Research, GuestLogix says travel suppliers expect revenues from third-party ancillary services to increase 30% in the next five years.

RedPrairie acquires Escalate Retail

RedPrairie, a Web-enabled systems provider for managing retailers' inventory, transportation and workforces, has made a major move into retail technology with the acquisition of Escalate Retail, Internet Retailer.

Escalate brings RedPrairie an e-commerce platform, order management technology and other retail applications along with some 500 retailer clients. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The acquisition fills gaps in RedPrairie's technology suite, which until now has not supported the customer-facing front end of order management and e-commerce systems, analysts say.
