E-tag bills motorists incorrectly

The Australian Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) is refunding hundreds of motorists caught by a faulty e-tag scanner on the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

The authority has also been forced to install an additional audit back-up to detect any future glitches in the electronic system found to be billing some motorists for simultaneously using the tunnel and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Alerted to the problem by a The Sun-Herald report, the RTA confirmed that 1 339 motorists had been charged double while travelling south across the bridge.

Basware, a provider of purchase to pay solutions, has formed a global partnership with OB10, a global B2B e-invoicing network, states TechWhack.

The partnership enables Basware's customers to benefit from OB10's best practice supplier enrolment. With the partnership, Basware's customers will be able to receive electronic invoices from suppliers via OB10, further extending the global reach of the Basware supplier network.

The OB10 co-operation will help Basware customers streamline their invoicing and payment process, allowing customers to benefit from improved efficiency and transparency within the financial supply chain.

There are plenty of shoppers online; the problem is they're not pulling the trigger on purchases. Still, marketers are doing their best to coax them, particularly though direct response methods like search ads, according to Adweek.

"Marketers have constraints," said John McAteer, retail director at Google. "They've already allocated money for the inventory. There's fixed capital on shelves. The only lever they have is marketing."

For that reason, spending on online marketing is holding steady. SearchIgnite, a provider of search marketing management tools, said search spending from retailers rose 33% over the first half of the fourth quarter.
