Earn a world of free travel opportunities with Tarsus PartneRewards

Johannesburg, 11 May 2001

Tarsus Technologies, a member of JSE-listed MB Technologies, has sent 110 PartneReward members on travel breakaways since the programme`s inception four years ago. This means that one PartneRewards member embarked on an adventure every three days over the past four years.

According to Michelle Collins, PartneRewards administrator at Tarsus Technologies, PartneRewards offers a host of breakaway options, which can be used for business travel, fun getaways, safari adventures or overseas holidays.

"PartneRewards allows members to customise their own breakaways. They can travel alone, with a partner, with an entire family, or even treat a business colleague or client to a travel breakaway as a purchase incentive," says Collins.

Once a reseller has enrolled, every order that is placed with participating PartneRewards companies earns them TravelBytes. These TravelBytes are automatically allocated according to the value of the order.

"With only 20 000 TravelBytes, a member can enjoy a free return Economy Class airfare on Air France from Johannesburg via Paris to London. A member can enjoy the wealth of new business opportunities as well as the magnificent sight of one of the world`s most interesting cities," continues Collins.

"With only 25 850 TravelBytes, a member can enjoy two nights of luxury accommodation at the Cape Grace hotel in the beautiful city of Cape Town," she adds.

There is also the option of a scuba diving course capped by four dives at Sodwana Bay, or a quick flight to Cape Town or Durban for the weekend. Members with sufficient TravelBytes can book a visit to Disney World, a Caribbean cruise aboard a five star luxury cruiser, or a skiing holiday in the Swiss Alps.

TravelBytes can also be used to book a local wine route, a trip to Robben Island, a visit to the aquarium or even a day at Ratunga Junction.

"To exchange TravelBytes for a breakaway, simply contact PartneRewards and a package that suit your needs will be designed. Your TravelByte account will be debited with the applicable amount," Collins concludes.

To redeem TravelBytes, call (011) 531 1000 or visit the Web site at www.partnerewards.co.za.

Tarsus Technologies

Tarsus Technologies is the distribution arm of MB Technologies Limited - a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and one of South Africa`s leading IT groups.

The founding company of the group, Tarsus Technologies, was established in 1985 by Leo Baxter, and was involved in the development and sale of software before diversifying into hardware distribution.

In 1989 Baxter sold a majority share to M+PD Electronics, which was subsequently sold to Siltek. In the early 1990s, Tarsus expanded its hardware sales, and was appointed distributor for OKI, Samsung and Compaq. In 1992, Baxter bought back Tarsus, selling a majority share to Persetel, and in 1994 he took advantage of an opportunity for a management buyout and repurchased the company with Mike McGrath acquiring an equal share.

The company was now growing strongly, and MB Technologies was formed as a holding company to cater for the group expanding and diversifying its operations into new areas.

Today, Tarsus Technologies is one of South Africa`s leading hardware distributors and widely recognised by the channel for its service ethos, product knowledge, excellent support and channel focus.

With an executive board comprising Mike McGrath (the founder of M+PD and past MD of Siltek), Leo Baxter, Guy Whitcroft, Pierre Spies, and Jamie Scott, Tarsus` management team is arguably the most experienced IT distribution team of any company in the country.
