Eclipse adds BPM

The Eclipse Foundation has added business process management (BPM) tools to its open source service-oriented architecture platform, states Search SOA.

Eclipse is pulling together several existing projects onto a common platform based on the Equinox framework for Java.

The move is strategic for the company because, until recently, Equinox lacked mature BPM technology.

BPM meets Web 2.0

BPM and workflow software provider Colosa has released ProcessMaker Community Edition 1.6, writes TMCnet.

The software takes processes managed by paper, e-mail and fax and converts them into Web-based processes that can be run through a Web 2.0 interface.

Colosa claims it has invested in research and development to bring the flexible BPM solution to the market.

Intellect intros insurance BPM

Intellect, a provider of non-proprietary, SOA software components within its Intellect SEEC Advantage Library, has introduced a collaborative business solution known as Insurance CBX, says Insurance Technology.

Designed to effectively utilise portal technology, process choreography and business components built on ACORD standards, Insurance CBX provides an SOA-enabled solution that offers integration and straight through processing for critical business processes.

The solution aims to streamline a number of business processes, such as new business applications for property & casualty or 'P&C', specialty insurance, life and annuities, underwriting to reduce cycle time for insurance, claims for P&C, disability health and specialty insurance.
