Managed telecommunications and VOIP providers Huge Telecom and ECN have signed an agreement, which will see Huge add ECN's voice products to its portfolio.
Huge has been working towards increasing its product portfolio through other providers, and the ECN deal is expected to be the first of these new reseller products.
“Currently, we provide our clients with services from the major network providers in SA and we felt it was time we began introducing products from alternative network providers into our portfolio of services. We look forward to being able to offer a best-of-breed voice solution to our customers,” says Huge CEO James Herbst.
The deal is a boon for both businesses, since both alternative telcos will want to expand their reach in SA's entrenched market. While Huge offers a competing voice product to ECN, the companies say they are comfortable that their new arrangement will not affect business as usual.
“ECN is proud to be able to add Huge Telecom to its network of business partners. Huge has a solid presence in the South African market and opens a range of new opportunities for us. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial business relationship,” says ECN chief commercial officer Andy Openshaw.
Huge recently created a channel and distribution division, which is being headed by local cellular veteran Greg Wright. “ECN doesn't go direct to market and so we won't be competing directly with Huge for customers,” adds Openshaw.
“Of course, we will be competing directly with ECN's other partners when it comes to customers, but our ability to provide a range of proven voice solutions tailored to a customer's needs is what sets us apart,” concludes Herbst.
