e.com institute partnered with RSA Security

Johannesburg, 03 Mar 2000

E-business solutions provider e.com institute has joined forces with RSA to accomplish its goal of marketing a total secure e-business solution.

According to John Berry, joint managing director of e.com institute, takes a holistic view of e-business by offering a totally integrated, secure, end-to-end e-business solution. "This includes development, infrastructure, secure payment processing, and strong security skills. The latter is where companies such as RSA Security come to the fore," adds Berry.

With a client base of more than 5 000, RSA Security specialises in e-security, helping organisations to build secure, trusted foundations for e-business through its RSA SecurID two-factor authentication, RSA BSAFE encryption, and RSA Keon public key management systems.

RSA SecureID enterprise authentication products are protecting information in most Fortune 100 companies today addressing the important need for easy, hacker-proof user authentication both inside and outside the corporate network.

These same products are similarly used by leading electronic commerce businesses, including securities trading and banking applications, to protect them from external attack and fraudulent activity.

Michael Watts, Product Manager of RSA Security, states that Internet security has really become an issue. "As a company focussing on security, we can only afford doing business with an e-business company that is willing to take responsibility in their solutions, " adds Watts.

The company`s RSA BSAFE line of encryption-based security technologies are embedded in over 450 million copies of today`s most successful Internet applications. RSA BSAFE contains a wide variety of security development kits that allow software and hardware developers to incorporate encryption technologies into their products.

RSA Keon public key infrastructures (PKI) products enable, manage and simplify the use of digital certificates in today`s leading Internet applications to secure e-business.

Kane Security solutions audit networked systems and carry out intrusion detection - monitoring the network for suspicious activities.

"With nearly a half billion RSA BSAFE-enabled applications in use worldwide, more than six million RSA SecurID users and almost 20 years of industry experience, RSA Security certainly has the proven leadership and innovative technology to address the changing security needs of e-business and bring trust to the new, online economy," says Berry.

In addition to RSA Security, e.com institute has also acquired several high-profile e-commerce and security agencies, such as CyberSource and Internet Dynamics, and is working on other strong joint ventures to bring to market a focused e-business solution.
