Edcon, Africa`s largest fashion retail group, is the latest organisation to sign up for the Contactor service from PIC Solutions, which enables clients to protect, enhance and maximise the value of their customer contact capabilities. As a leader in the use of predictive dialling technology, over a wide range of campaign types, from marketing through to collections, Edcon is well aware of the value of accurate telephone numbers.
Over the past 24 months, Telkom has changed the area codes and number formats of over 1 000 000 telephone numbers in SA. In addition, the data capture, modification and update facilities within many systems allow data inaccuracies and errors to corrupt invaluable customer contact numbers. Common examples include missing or duplicated dialling codes, invalid format numbers, insufficient digits and free format text.
Attempted calls to invalid or inaccurate numbers, often during time critical dialling campaigns, result in both operational inefficiency and additional costs while trying to find new telephone numbers.
The Contactor service offers data cleaning and validation on all customer telephone numbers to ensure the correct format of area codes, telephone numbers and compatibility between postal and telephone area codes. Based on a user-defined level of confidence, numbers are automatically corrected and/or reported with a full audit trail.
The rapid `turnaround` time associated with the Contactor service, will ensure that Edcon is quick to benefit from the enhanced data integrity, that will in turn maximise the effectiveness of dialling strategies over the peak holiday season.
