EDS announces new, expanded global contracts

EDS has announced four contracts with companies in Europe and Latin America. Highlights of today`s announcements, terms of which were not disclosed, include:

* EDS and the leading Swedish cooperative, KF Kort (Card), announced a new three-year contract that broadens the existing 10-year relationship between the companies, and is the third agreement between EDS and the KF group announced this month. On April 1, EDS announced two agreements valued at $30 million with Coop Sverige, a member of the KF group. Since 1993, EDS has delivered IT infrastructure and applications services to KF Kort, including all central computer operations and applications.

* EDS and Esko-Graphics, a leading global supplier of prepress and pre-production products and services to the graphic arts and packaging industry, announced an IT outsourcing services agreement aimed at standardising and unifying Esko-Graphics` IT system. The contract includes operation of all IT systems, including desktop, and servers, with high stability and security. This will allow Esko-Graphics to focus on rolling out enterprise-wide business solutions, as a result of EDS`s capability to implement, deliver and service a global unified infrastructure with great flexibility and reduced risk. Geographically, the agreement encompasses Esko-Graphics` sites in 22 countries, the major ones being located in Belgium, Denmark and the US.

* In Latin America, EDS and Visanet announced a contract renewal that includes expanded service capabilities under the master contract. EDS will provide Visanet with services including transaction processing, systems development and maintenance, customer care call centre operations, authorisations, and other back-office functions. EDS` expanded offerings will include data warehouse services, risk management, and missions critical hosting services.

* EDS also announced an agreement with Chile`s national airline, LanChile, to provide outsourcing services to the airline`s IT infrastructure. EDS will provide services in the operation and administration of LanChile`s centralised systems distributed in more than 300 servers as well as the centralisation of the help desk to support 4 000 users nationwide. EDS will provide services to LanChile`s operations in Europe, the US and Latin America. The contract also involves the introduction of processes and methodologies including the standardisation of the desktop environment, equipment supply, tools for information security, real-time monitoring operations and control of IT assets.
