EDS, an HP company, has been renamed HP Enterprise Services following a year-long integration strategy into HP's growing global enterprise technology services portfolio.
“Our clients expect us to harness the full power of HP's portfolio to solve their business challenges,” says Gois Fouch'e, acting MD of HP SA.
“The combination of EDS' services brand and HP's technology leadership will aid HP in becoming one of the leading IT services providers in SA and worldwide,” he continues.
According to HP, during the third quarter of fiscal year 2009, the HP Enterprise Business accounted for 47% of company revenue and 60% of its non-GAAP operating profit.
All HP Enterprise Business units will continue to report to Ann Livermore, executive vice-president of HP, adds the company.
“Customers are facing tough challenges in their technology environments,” says Livermore. “Challenges such as a rigid infrastructure, increasing applications and information complexity are restricting the speed with which IT can add value to the business. The move will enable the company to address these challenges.”
“We will continue to utilise the capabilities of the HP portfolio to meet ever-changing customer needs; delivering the service excellence that our clients have come to expect,” concludes Fouch'e.
