EDS Solutions Consulting
EDS formed its Solutions Consulting line of business in April 2002 by merging EDS` applications service line (formerly part of EDS Information Solutions) with the E Solutions line of business. The combined line of business leverages EDS` applications maintenance and development outsourcing expertise with the business process, systems integration and technology-based consulting service of E Solutions.
Since that time, EDS Solutions Consulting has been recognised as the leading IT service provider that supports more ongoing software development and maintenance than any other IT service provider in the world, according to the results of a recently released International Data Corporation (IDC) study. In its annual look at applications management, IDC estimates the overall market for the practice area at $11.1 billion, with EDS generating approximately $2 billion of this revenue, or 18%. In estimating revenue by firm, IDC used in-depth surveys and analysis, combined with data collected throughout the year about each vendor and its customers.
"EDS Solutions Consulting is led by some of the most senior IT consulting and business executives in the market, and we are expanding and strengthening our market presence by adding global industry practice leaders who have targeted and specific industry expertise," said Paulett Eberhart, president of EDS Solutions Consulting. "These global industry practice leaders will enable us to approach the market with a strategic focus on key growth industries and deliver service excellence to our clients."
