Following the successful launch of Big Boet! Grades 4-7 earlier this year, Edutain Distribution is proud to announce the availability of JUNIOR Big Boet!, another offering in the most comprehensive CD-ROM educational software series available in SA.
This series has been locally developed by Edupro in co-operation with Dr Tom H Brown, internationally recognised educationist and instructional designer.
Says Voula Philippides, MD of Edutain Distribution: "Big Boet! has proved to be a very successful product, and we are pleased to be able to meet the demand of parents and educators in launching JUNIOR Big Boet! Grades 0-1 and 2-3 which completes the series by covering all the grades at primary school level. Grades 0-1 (ages 5-7) is immediately available; grades 2-3 (ages 7-8) will be only be available later in the year."
JUNIOR Big Boet! is bilingual and based on proven leaning methods that aid the learner in becoming more independent and self-directed through the development of all facets of learning skills. Importantly, it is designed to make learning fun. It is not based on a specific school curriculum, but on generic learning skills, which support formal school training, and are compatible with any educational model. JUNIOR Big Boet! develops the skills of learners, and equips them for higher level primary education.
This educational program contains hundreds of practical exercises with five levels of difficulty controlled by an `adaptive` learning system that adjusts automatically as the learner improves. It focuses on thinking skills, reading, memory, writing and maths, utilising audio-visual examples; ensuring that the five basic skills are developed, stimulated and incorporated. As a new level is attained, the learner is rewarded with a bonus in the form of a puzzle to be completed. Included in the software is a report for parents in order for them to assess how the learner is developing.
