Nanoteq, security technology development house of system integration giant Comparex Holdings, has implemented its FileSeq file security solution at Enterprise Life Cycle Management (ELCyM).
ELCyM`s primary mission is to add operational and strategic value to its client`s by focusing on the convergence of information and communications, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and outsourcing trends in the global market.
ELCyM`s executive director, Piet Havenga said the company realises the importance of security to ensure that a competitive advantage does not become general market information.
"ELCyM is not taking any chances with inferior security solutions. We selected Nanoteq based on their track record in the IT security market. The FilesSeq solution, combined with the NetSeq enterprise security suite, met our immediate requirements," he added.
The NetSeq enterprise security solution is based on a secure hardware platform which hosts various security software modules such as Firewalling, VPN and security remote access.
In order to ensure a total security solution, and to provide total protection from the outside the world and the Internet, EICyM selected FileSeq, in addition to the NetSeq solution from Nanoteq.
FileSeq is a file encryption product that protects information within the LAN and WAN environments by encrypting files on an individual basis. Shared files can still be accessed, even in the encrypted format. This is achieved by a comprehensive multi-dimensional Access Control List.
"Encrypted files thus never travel unencrypted over the LAN or WAN. Encrypted files can be checked out for use at home. The files always remains encrypted, while checked out," Havenga explained.
Nanoteq channel manager Rian Olivier said one of the major benefits of FileSeq, from a customer viewpoint, is the small impact the installation has on the customer`s network. The FileSeq Keyserver hosts all the security keys as well as the Access Control List. No integration or reconfiguration of the client`s fileserver is required.
The Keyserver is a simple additional device on the network, fulfilling a strategic security requirement.
