Local supplier of information storage systems, software, networks and services, EMC, has appointed Igal Prigan as its new channel partner manager.
Prigan brings with him a wealth of industry experience that spans the best part of 20 years working with local and international software and hardware vendors.
"Working at companies focusing on storage technologies as well as channel operations has equipped me with the necessary skills to serve both EMC and its channel well," he says.
"EMC`s channel is a relatively new go-to-market strategy and, as customer needs become more complex, an in-depth understanding of the particular business requirements is crucial. Business partners are able to extend our offerings by combining best of breed technologies, practices and know-how for our customer`s benefits."
As channel strategy mature, of paramount importance to EMC is the incremental value it can deliver to its customers through its channel business partners.
"One of the ways in which we hope to achieve this is via a renewed focus on creating solid relationships with both the channel and the end-user, providing the marketplace with innovative, cost-effective and reliable infrastructure. I want to get to know our end-users and their business strategies better," he says.
He adds that end-user perspective is the most important qualification of how well EMC and its channel are able to deliver the required business value, in a world of declining IT budgets.
"One of the main reasons I joined the company was that it offers both the depth of co-operative and cumulative experience and the breadth of technologies," he concludes. "EMC wants to drive new initiatives to the marketplace and I`m delighted to be a part of it."
