EMC leads CMS sector
EMC has moved to number one position with its content management systems (CMS), according to the latest new report by Gartner.
Middle Eastern Business resource AME Info writes that EMC beat nine large content management providers in the revenue growth sector in 2005, growing its CMS revenue more than four times the rate of the revenue leader and nearly double the rate of the overall content management software market.
Oracle reveals CMS plans
Oracle`s VP of Global Technology, Robert Shimp, has revealed to e-business news site Line56 some of the future opportunities for the company in content management.
"Content management is [worth] $4 billion today and expected to grow to over $10 billion in the next few years," says Shimp. This, adds the article, would put content management close to the entire database market in size.
The article adds that Shimp and other Oracle executives are aware of the long-term limits to the database market. CEO Larry Ellison has been talking about these limits for some time, and Oracle`s acquisition-fuelled applications strategy has been one response.
DIY Web CMS goes live
CMS provider Jadu has released a tool that lets Web publishers create a CMS, rather than outsourcing the task to third parties, writes Net-Imperitive.
The service, Jadu Galaxies, is aimed at non-technical Web masters in both businesses and public sector organisations.
The service enables Web masters and site editors to design, build and manage multiple Web sites through a single interface, notes the article, adding Jadu Galaxies includes optional integrated Google search technology and is built on open standards.
