EMC makes key EMEA appointments

EMC Corporation yesterday made two key executive appointments in its EMEA team that it says supports its focus on helping organisations take advantage of the massive opportunity and competitive advantage presented by computing and big .

Nicolas Leblanc has been appointed VP of sales for Spain, Portugal, Israel and Greece, while Philippe Foss'e has been appointed VP of EMEA channels, the position previously held by Leblanc.

In his new role, Leblanc will be responsible for bringing together EMC's direct and indirect channels to help build momentum and growth in the region.

Leblanc's appointment was made following his success in his previous channel role that saw more than 500 new resellers added to the EMC EMEA channel ecosystem and growth of nearly 300% within the EMEA channel market in 2011.

With more than 17 years' experience in direct and channel sales, Leblanc's previous roles since joining EMC from HP in 2003 include leading EMC's channel organisation in France and EMEA South.

According to EMC, Foss'e, currently VP of EMC EMEA East, brings senior sales leadership and a deep understanding of the channel to his new role. He will work with the existing sales leadership to ensure objectives are aligned across the territory, while focusing on reseller enablement and continued development of the channel team.

Says Foss'e: “I'm delighted to be taking over a thriving channel organisation from Nicolas Leblanc. I'm looking forward to continuing efforts in this area in order to expand our business together with our resellers to further strengthen the EMEA channel organisation, while delivering EMC's cloud and big data strategy to the market.”

Leblanc will report to Christian Hiller, EMC's president of EMEA South, and Foss'e will report to Gregg Ambulos, senior VP of global channel sales, and Rainer Erlat, chairman of EMC International.

Ambulos says: “Both Nicolas and Philippe have achieved excellent results in their previous roles. I congratulate them on their new placements and am confident that this change will help drive further success for EMC in the EMEA region.”
