EMC Corporation, the world leader in information storage, today announced the promotion of John P "Jack" Garrahan, Jr, to the position of Vice President and Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Garrahan, previously EMC`s Vice President of Global Marketing, brings more than 16 years of industry experience to the company`s EMEA organisation.
EMC`s presence in EMEA includes more than 4 000 employees in 28 countries. The region accounted for nearly 30% of EMC`s $8.9 billion revenues in 2000. EMC`s European customers include 80% of the FTSE 100, 93% of the DAX 30, and 90% of the CAC 40.

Garrahan first joined EMC in 1985 and has served in a number of marketing and sales management positions in the US and Europe. Garrahan holds an undergraduate degree from Boston College and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
New EMEA marketing director named
EMC further strengthened its EMEA team today with the announcement of Sean Kerins as Director of EMEA Marketing. Kerins, who previously led EMC`s marketing efforts in Asia Pacific, is responsible for assessing the requirements of the EMEA market and delivering compelling product offerings to help EMEA organisations understand and implement an EMC E-Infostructure - an enterprise information infrastructure - in ways that bring strategic value to their businesses.
"During Sean`s tenure in Asia Pacific, EMC boasted triple digit growth in the region," commented Garrahan. "Sean`s marketing and operations experience will play a major role in enabling EMC to articulate the business value of the EMC E-Infostructure to organisations throughout the region."
Kerins joined EMC in 1996 and has held key positions in corporate development, marketing, and sales operations, both in the US and Asia-Pacific. He holds an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and an MBA from Northwestern University`s Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.
Both Garrahan and Kerins are based in London.
