Business developer Emsoft has restructured to allow the distribution of shares to staff and black empowerment partners.

"Essentially, proprietary ownership of our business development software will be retained in Emsoft Group," says financial director Andy Parsons.

"Emsoft will no longer sell direct to customers, but will appoint a channel manager to distribution partners and value-added resellers (VARs). This will enable Emsoft to focus on the research and development of new products, such as relationship management software."

He says a new subsidiary, EmTechnologies, will assume responsibility for the maintenance and enhancement of Emsoft tools and technologies, including Four Js and Fourgen CASE Tools.

"Four Js VARs will also be appointed and managed by EmTechnologies and the subsidiary will provide training and support on Four Js and FourGen CASE Tools," says Parsons.

Black empowerment partner Thutani Business Solutions will function as Emsoft`s applications arm and will be responsible for the resale of FourGen applications. It will also act as a VAR of Four Js.

The group`s channel partners include prestige partners, or distributors, who undertake application sales, implementation, training and support. They may, in turn, appoint classic partners (VARs) who provide implementation, training and support services, Parsons says.
