With Kobil mIDentity 1.5 no software installation on the PC is required to use the encryption function of the data safe (flash memory) and the single sign-on functionality.
Furthermore, the security solution recognises SSL VPN clients via Firefox, which is already installed on mIDentity, including the user profile. It can be started from there without any set-up. The authentication is done via the smart card, which has the advantage that no software needs to be installed on the client. For the first time, PKI applications can be realised not only mobile but from any location and from any computer without installation.

The size of the device is only 8cm, it weighs 13 grams and the software is already integrated. Four different versions with varying functions are currently available: Model S with 32MB, Model M with 128MB, Model L with 256MB and Model XL with 512MB. Kobil mIDentity includes an E4 smart card with SIM card size which enables numerous computer independent applications, such as network authentication, single sign-on, data backup, outlook synchronisation, digital signature as well as the encryption of e-mails and data with international standards like Triple-DES and RSA. Mobile users can save their personalised user profiles and take them along with them. With the mobile data safe, users can now securely transport their sensitive data.
