As the local economy begins to show signs of a turnaround, companies have to gear up to compete in a market where businesses are spending more shrewdly on IT infrastructure.
Enterasys will again host a three-day conference later this year for its business partners and users.
Entitled War in IT, E-Net 2002 will look at how business can arm itself for the new struggle facing IT companies in the year ahead.
Competition is fierce among IT companies wishing to grab contracts as they become available and E-Net will examine ways to gather ammunition for the fight ahead.
"E-Net 2001 was a great success, and we felt we had to give our partners a follow-up conference this year," says Gavin Levin, sales director at Enterasys.
"This doesn`t take the format of a regular conference. We will have a jam-packed three days which will include team-building exercises, analyst presentations and talks delivered by some of Enterasys` leading technology gurus."
The conference will also examine the years past, drawing on what mistakes have been made by industry players and how best to avoid them in the future.
"History has a way of repeating itself and we hope to take some valuable lessons from case studies of other companies and use them to educate attendees on just what is required to ensure those mistakes are not repeated," says Martin May, regional director for the sub-Saharan region.
The conference will serve as an ideal opportunity for delegates to enjoy an intensive training programme as well as be entertained by some of SA`s finest musicians and performers.
"This is about business, but who said business couldn`t be fun? It is time to bring the fun back into IT and Enterasys believes it can set the industry standard in that department as well," says May.
