Enterasys honours Bytes Technology Networks at global conference

Johannesburg, 21 Jan 2005

Enterasys Networks recognised the growing relationship between itself and Bytes Technology Networks (BTN) at the vendor`s annual partner conference in Seville, Spain.

"Enterasys South Africa has a particularly strong relationship with BTN in the Sub-Saharan region. Enterasys as a group wanted to recognise the growing partnership and felt it fitting to honour BTN at an international event of this magnitude," explains Martin May, African director for Enterasys Networks.

The most notable achievement between the two companies has been the standardisation on Enterasys` Secure Networks 10Gb Ethernet Technology across the southern African operations of De Beers.

De Beers is the world`s largest diamond mining house and is the industry leader in the exploration, mining, recovery, sorting, valuation and marketing of diamonds. The network supports De Beers` South African corporate offices as well as its South African mining sites.

"The De Beers deal was not only financially significant for the two companies, but proved to be a litmus test for Enterasys technology under the most challenging and exacting of circumstances.

"The success of the implementation depended on the close working relationship between ourselves and BTN and we expect to see other deals of similar magnitude unfolding in the near future," comments May.

Patrick Hastings, Regional Director, Bytes Technology Networks Gauteng, comments: "It is vital for us to form strong relationships with our partners and customers to ensure continuous growth together. As a technology business partner, we aim to maximise on investments through the use of advanced technology business solutions, resources and support that form an integral part of our customer`s business and strategies.

"Our focus on consultancy and knowledge-based customer relationships has been rewarded and we will continue with this strategy into this financial year, building on our success of last year."
