Enterasys Networks expands relationship with Westcon Group; announces distribution agreement with Comstor Division

Enterasys joins Comstor GSA dealer program; partnership to focus on security and networking solutions for government agencies
Johannesburg, 10 Nov 2003

Enterasys Networks, Inc., a global provider of Business- Driven NetworksTM for enterprise customers, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Comstor, a channel provider of networking technology products and a division of Westcon Group, Inc. The partnership builds upon Enterasys` existing distribution agreement with Westcon Group and enables Comstor to offer Enterasys` full line of enterprise security and networking products to value-added resellers (VARs) focusing on government agencies and other markets.

Enterasys has also joined Comstor`s General Services Administration (GSA) dealer program, enabling qualified government resellers to sell Enterasys products through Comstor`s GSA schedule. As a result, Comstor has added Enterasys` leading-edge security and networking infrastructure products to its government-oriented portfolio.

"Westcon is a strategic go-to-market partner for Enterasys, and we are pleased to announce that this relationship has expanded to their Comstor division," said Mark Aslett, president of Enterasys Networks. "Our partnership with Comstor enhances our ability to deliver Secure Networks that meet customers` requirements, and Enterasys` products complement Comstor`s comprehensive portfolio for government VARs."

With a focus on Secure Networks, Comstor will develop specific solution programs for government value-added resellers (VARs) based on the Enterasys Security Router (XSR Series) and Enterasys` Dragon IDS products. In addition, Comstor also offers Enterasys` multilayer switches, core routers, wireless LAN and network management products.

Enterasys delivers on the concept of a Business-Driven Network by providing high-performance infrastructure solutions that deliver true business value, while lowering IT costs and mitigating security risks. The Enterasys` XSR-1800 series provides powerful remote office networking by combining a rich suite of IP router features, a broad range of WAN interfaces and enterprise-class Virtual Private Networking (VPN). Enterasys` Dragon family provides an integrated solution for detecting and responding to misuse and attacks across the entire IT infrastructure. Dragon`s ability to detect and respond to attacks where they occur, using network and host sensors, together with analysis and real-time monitoring capabilities, brings the highest level of protection to the business-critical IT infrastructure.
