Enterasys Secure Networks solution achieves OPSEC certification from Check Point

Dragon Intrusion Defense integrates with industry`s most recognised security framework to detect, locate and respond to known and unknown threats with unprecedented granularity
Johannesburg, 29 Sep 2004

Enterasys Networks, the Secure Networks Company, has announced that its Enterasys Dragon Intrusion Defense System has achieved OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies, the worldwide leader in securing the Internet.

Through OPSEC certification, Enterasys Dragon now seamlessly integrates with Check Point`s market-leading VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation with Application Intelligence software, allowing enterprises to detect and combat misuse or attacks, both internal and external to the network, across their entire IT infrastructure.

"With the multivendor, complex security systems that many enterprises currently have in place, open, interoperable, layered security solutions continue to be significantly important," said John Roese, chief technology officer for Enterasys Networks. "Our Secure Networks approach provides customers with the most granular level of security available today. The integration of Dragon with Check Point`s VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation with Application Intelligence software enables enterprises to take advantage of these leading security solutions to ensure network reliability and business continuity in the face of ever-increasing security threats."

Designed specifically to meet the unique and challenging security requirements of the enterprise environment, the Enterasys Dragon Intrusion Defense System offers comprehensive features that deliver improved, embedded network security. With its unique network-based detection and active response capabilities, modular host intrusion detection components, server management and event management, Dragon provides a reliable solution for detecting and responding to the broad array of attacks present in today`s constantly changing security landscape.

"The Enterasys Dragon product leverages the OPSEC interfaces to provide automated alerts and notifications to VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation with Application Intelligence," said Upesh Patel, director, business development for Check Point Software Technologies. "Through this integration, customers will extend their abilities to respond in real-time to threats aimed at their networks, such as worms, viruses, denial-of-service (DoS) and zero-day attacks or to internal misuse and abuse."
