Enterasys teams up with CHM Vuwani

Johannesburg, 15 Jul 2003

Enterasys Networks has appointed the black empowerment arm of First Technology, CHM Vuwani, as reseller for its full range of networking equipment.

The partnership will see CHM Vuwani selling and supporting Enterasys` full range of products, servicing all levels of the market, from SME to high-end enterprise users.

CHM Vuwani has been operating as a reseller since 1997 with nine regional offices throughout the country. The company currently has a 70% BEE shareholding, with the remaining 30% resting with First Technology.

"Our partnership with Enterasys will add a leading-edge to the CHM Vuwani offerings, allowing it to aggressively compete in the WAN/LAN section of a well established enterprise market," says CHM Vuwani sales director, Marla Mendes.

"The Enterasys range of routing and switching equipment has received the highest accolades for performance and reliability from international research analysts. What is more, the local division has already given us its full support from a technical as well as sales point of view," she continues.

The partnership will also benefit Enterasys, giving the networking vendor access to a strong government and parastatal user base through the BEE company.

"Enterasys has always had a strong base of loyal customers in the southern African market, "says Martin May, Enterasys African director. "This partnership will further increase our exposure to the lucrative government and parastatal market. Together we have already targeted a number of potential clients, who have expressed an interest in our joint offering."

Mendes says the services and support offerings from Enterasys has made an attractive selling point to new clients.

"Support and guarantees such as LanCare for Life has made the Enterasys bouquet of offerings exceptionally attractive to potential clients. With the market still languishing in a slightly flat period, we use the selling advantages of this vendor from both a technical as well as support level as a great leverage when approaching clients," says Mendes.

"We are expecting great things from the new partnership, and with the continuing release of new and upgraded technology from the Enterasys R&D department, there will be more than enough options available for CHM Vuwani to choose from when approaching any client," concludes May.
