Enterasys unveils business-driven networks strategy, debuts campaign and Webcast

Johannesburg, 05 Feb 2003

Enterasys Networks Inc, a leading broadline provider of enterprise networking solutions, today announced Business-Driven Networks, a unique strategy that enables enterprise customers to increase productivity, reduce costs, protect intellectual capital, simplify administration and capitalise on new business opportunities through Enterasys` best-of-breed networking solutions.

Supporting the new strategy, Enterasys also announced a new Webcast and advertising campaign based upon Business-Driven Networks.

The Business-Driven Networks strategy focuses on driving security, productivity and agility through customer-focused network solutions that align with business priorities. This alignment enables organisations to optimise business operations and application performance throughout the enterprise, and use network infrastructure to conduct business more efficiently and, ultimately, more profitably.

As a global technology leader with more than 15 years of experience and over 700 technology patents, Enterasys Networks has provided business-driven networks to some of the world`s most successful companies, including many of the Fortune 500.

"The Business-Driven Networks strategy is another example of how Enterasys continues to address the critical business needs of its customers, in addition to their technical requirements. Enterasys` focus on the enterprise positions the company well in maximising the efficiency and returns that can be obtained from a network," said Michael Disabato, Burton Group Analyst.

The free Webcast, entitled "Business-Driven Networking: Bringing Intelligence into the IT Infrastructure," debuted on 29 January 2003 and can be accessed on Enterasys Web site at www.enterasys.com. The Webcast features thought-provoking discussion on issues and strategies, and includes user requirements, customer case studies and "how to" implementation examples. Attendees heard first-hand from industry experts such as:

* John Gallant, President and Editorial Director, Network World;

* John Roese, Chief Technology Officer, Enterasys Networks;

* Peter Burris, President, Appergy Inc; and

* Bill Laberis, Technology Host, ITworld.com.

In addition, Enterasys is launching a new integrated marketing campaign including advertisements and advertorials in leading business and technology publications. In North America, Enterasys advertorials will run in CIO magazine, Network World, Network Magazine and CRN (Computer Reseller News), with similar media placements upcoming in Europe and Asia. The advertorials, titled "The Enterasys Edge", each outline the advantages of Enterasys solutions for a specific audience: business applications, technology specialists and channel partners.

Today, security remains a prerequisite as companies look to protect confidential information and digital assets; yet they must also increase productivity to survive in a competitive marketplace. And true success is achieved by having the agility to respond to changing conditions. Enterasys` Business-Driven Networks philosophy builds upon our leadership in security by helping enterprises not only secure their resources, but boost productivity and respond faster to changes and new market opportunities, said Gil Arbel, executive vice-president, product management and worldwide marketing, Enterasys Networks.
