Enterprise Connection Cape - a subsidiary of the listed Connection Group Holdings - has scooped all competition to be awarded the first phase of the coveted Capespan contract for the creation of a Storage Area Network System (SANS) and its full integration into existing IT structures.
Says Marius Geyer, Facilities Manager of Capespan, the recently merged Unifruco and Outspan operation: "What impressed us most about Enterprise Connection Cape was their ability to correctly read our business needs, integrating a multiple service consisting of Unix and NT platforms. This entails consolidating the PC networks of both Unifruco and Outspan, and providing a seamless communication from all PC servers through to one central Capespan site."
The hub of the SANS is a Compaq TL895 Automated Tape library - the first installation of its kind in the Western Cape.
