Enterprise Connection is a black-owned Microsoft Gold Certified infrastructure solution provider with a proven track record as a Microsoft Large Account Reseller (LAR). The focus of the business is on delivering customised services and product solutions through a team of excellently skilled staff in all the major cities including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) was established by legislation to collect revenue and ensure compliance with tax law. Its vision is to be an innovative revenue and customs agency that enhances economic growth and social development, and supports South Africa`s integration into the global economy in a way that benefits all citizens.
Enterprise Connection (EC) responded to a tender from the South African Revenue Service requesting that companies bid for the position of enterprise software advisor (ESA) for the provision of licensing and contract management services to SARS which primarily included agreement maintenance and support and licence management.
Upon completion of the tender process, Enterprise Connection was nominated by the SARS panel to fulfil the business of managing its licensing and contract support and management.
Veena Pather, Executive Director of Enterprise Connection, Tshwane said of the win: "We consider SARS to be the jewel in the public sector crown, so we are incredibly pleased to have won this business. We believe that winning this tender will give us the momentum to propel EC from third place in the LAR, ESA market space to first."
She added that EC hoped to be able to demonstrate its sound methodology and experience and that SARS would become another example of how it could assist other organisations that experience the same challenges.
Veena went on to say: "With software licensing becoming more complex and affecting business-critical issues like compliancy, pricing and deployment, it`s necessary to look beyond just procurement and actually provide SARS with a total licence management solution through LicenseRight."
In essence, with LicenseRight, the process of managing the licence and contract issues between vendor and customers, EC now becomes responsible for helping the organisation navigate through all the complex issues associated with software licensing. EC, with years of accumulative software and licensing experience, has been able to successfully apply LicenseRight ensuring customers have complete peace of mind. As a result moving forward, SARS IT managers will be free to focus on more important elements of their functions and departments, like managing the environment, examining future technologies and focusing on user support.
Enterprise Connection has dedicated resources to managing the SARS account as a whole and will begin by conducting a full licence review in order to define the licensing requirements of SARS upon which it will produce a final analysis and current snapshot of the licensed environment.
EC will implement an online procurement and tracking tool facilitating management and monitoring of software licence procurement in the organisation.
EC will make quarterly reports available that will record all the Microsoft product procurement. It will advise SARS on the software licence distribution process, the procedures, the standards and the monitoring mechanisms to facilitate product distribution, deployment and management within SARS. This will facilitate that SARS is kept up to date with latest developments and that all software licensing information is kept current with a record of any new desktop acquisitions.
Introducing the LicenseRight software solution into the South African Revenue Service means total peace of mind for the IT department. It solves problems normally associated with legality, maintenance, pricing, ownership and compliancy. It evens out the licensing acquisition costs and ensures a more predictable and accurate budget at the end of the financial period. This seems more than just an enterprise software advisor service; it`s a full licensing and contract management service, exactly what SARS requires and what Enterprise Connection does best!
In addition to its integrated solutions, EC has a technical division that specialises in outsourcing contracts, consulting and service level agreements for a wide range of corporate customers.
With the acquisition of a 25.1% equity stake in business solutions provider, nVisionIT, Enterprise Connection also offers specialised Mocrosoft.Net development capability. With the 26% equity purchase of DocQNet Systems International, Enterprise Connection can also offer electronic document management.
