EnterWeb geared up for Gartner Symposium

Johannesburg, 03 Aug 2009

EnterWeb, a member of the EOH group and the sub-Saharan distributor of the F5 product range, is a bronze exhibitor at the upcoming Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Africa and plans to underpin the theme: "Planning for Uncertainty", with a strong focus on agile infrastructure as an enabler to aligning IT with business objectives.

This gathering of IT minds is the first in Gartner`s annual worldwide Symposia series. The inter-related themes, which will fall under the spotlight, are: improving business processes, reducing IT cost, delivering projects that enable business growth, and managing talent and improving workforce effectiveness. These, Gartner says, are the priorities everyone will need to deliver on, no matter what their level in an organisation.

Andries Louw, MD of EnterWeb, agrees, stating that many companies today have key initiatives to accomplish these objectives, but few have the budget or staff to realise them. A critical gap exists and exposes the need for an intelligent and agile infrastructure as a means to realising improved processes, reduced cost and business growth.

"CIOs are frustrated in their ability to respond to business needs because the underlying IT infrastructure constrains choice, slows response, and limits their ability to manage change. Costs increase, resources aren`t shared, and management is complex."

What EnterWeb will showcase at the Gartner Symposium is that the major challenge that F5 bridges with its latest technology platforms is that it enables companies to renew their architectures more quickly than before.

"Building infrastructures that can shift IT spend from maintenance to continual renewal is the ultimate objective of any future-proof architecture, and F5 has become the `golden glue` that enables this shift, by enabling dynamic and agile infrastructures and IT teams. Gartner rates F5 as the undisputed leader in application delivery, so it stands to reason that EnterWeb plans to have a dominant presence at the Gartner Symposium," Louw concludes.

The Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Africa takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 3 to 5 August.
