EOH Eastern Cape develops Master Systems Plans

Johannesburg, 15 May 2002

EOH Eastern Cape, a member of the JSE-listed EOH group of companies, has provided a full range of services to a diverse customer base in the Eastern Cape and Border regions.

Services include, but are not limited to, business consulting, including the development of a Master Systems Plan; ERP package implementation and support; business-to-business (B2B) communications; technical infrastructure support (networks and operating systems); and software development services.

EOH has found that the development of a Master Systems Plan is often required to enable to enable a customer to understand what technology should be applied to different areas of their business. The Master Systems Plan shows how these technologies can be integrated to form a cohesive technology infrastructure to support the company`s business strategies.

A large number of EOH customers are in the manufacturing sector and the majority have installed an ERP package in the last few years. Most of these customers are now familiar with the capabilities of their ERP package.

Many customers are, however, still battling to close the gap between the ERP system and factory operations. Requirements such as the efficient use of the factory, reliable order promises and the ability to do what-if simulations remain unsolved.

While most ERP packages have some functionality related to scheduling, very few offer a focused factory scheduling solution as part of their package, at a reasonable price.

EOH Eastern Cape recently announced that it distributes and supports the Preactor finite capacity scheduling solution. Over 3 200 Preactor licences have been sold in over 27 countries and can be found in a diverse range of companies. Companies with as few as 10 staff, up to multinationals with thousands of staff, use this product.
