EOH takes Mimecast to market

Johannesburg, 03 Nov 2009

EOH has entered into an agreement with Mimecast, a rapidly expanding software as a service (SaaS) company, to resell, implement, and support its Unified Email Management (UEM) solution.

Rob Godlonton, EOH Director, says the partnership forms part of EOH's Managed Services offerings and reinforces its strategy to deliver solutions that solve real business problems.

“The strength of Mimecast lies in addressing the threats associated with managing an e-mail environment today - security, policy, archiving, discovery, and continuity. The benefits of this product to our customers include long-term productivity gains brought about by diminished mail administration costs and avoidable hardware and software expenditure.”

Godlonton adds that Mimecast is not simply a commodity-based purchase. As South African businesses place a premium on good corporate governance, the Mimecast solution will allow EOH to help its customers quickly align with very relevant compliance frameworks such as King III, RICA and Sarbanes-Oxley.

The partnership agreement took effect on 1 September and EOH has since implemented Mimecast Unified Email Management throughout its own operation and at, among others, SA Rugby.

Grant Hodgkinson, Mimecast Business Development Director, says Mimecast understands the real commercial and technical problems that e-mail can create for businesses. The company, which began operating in 2003, developed its unified e-mail management platform to simplify e-mail for companies. It now has over 2 500 customers worldwide.

“Mimecast is intent on working with partners that see the value in what UEM has to offer and who have the appetite to complement their existing solutions with Mimecast. With EOH we have found an organisation that collaborates with both us and its clients, to work out far-reaching answers to technology questions. We know Mimecast is relevant and it's hugely rewarding to find a partner that sees it as clearly as we do,” says Hodgkinson.
