EOH to exclusively represent Invensys Operations Management in South Africa

Leading IT service provider and JSE listed company, EOH, which was ranked fourth in Financial Mail's Top 200 Companies survey, will exclusively represent the sub-Saharan African operation of Invensys Operations Management.

The strategic appointment makes EOH the sole representative of Invensys Operations Management in sub-Saharan Africa, and is largely attributable to EOH's extensive knowledge in the mining and manufacturing sectors, as well as its reach in the local market, with 3 100 employees and 2 500 customers. EOH's impeccable track record of success as a Level 3 BBBEE-rated business solidified the decision.

“The Invensys Operations Management and EOH collaboration will not only broaden the scope and product offering to the local and surrounding markets, but will also benefit existing Invensys business units to execute projects more cost-effectively, with the new office serving as the primary point of contact for Invensys in the region,” says Asher Bohbot, Chief Executive Officer of EOH.

Invensys Operations Management is a global provider of technology systems, software solutions and consulting services to the manufacturing and infrastructure operations industries. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, its solutions are utilised by more than 40 000 clients around the world in more than 200 000 plants and facilities.

EOH's solid track record in the mining and manufacturing sector creates a solid foundation for Invensys Operations Management to work from, says Bhattacharya. “South Africa has an aggressive energy expansion goal as the leading economic power in Africa, and is a key player in the continent's energy and oil industries.

Besides project engineering, the new Invensys facility at EOH will include a training and customer support service centre, as well as a sales and marketing point of contact. The company anticipates employing more than 50 engineering and other professionals to provide local and global project support. The Invensys offering includes process control engineering that is utilised by large energy and oil industries in the form of distributed control systems (DCS), to control their processes, boilers and electrical power grids.

The newly established Invensys office within EOH will add value to heavy industry in sub-Saharan Africa, the community and will make great technology available and supported in the region.
