Johannesburg, , 26 Jun 2000

Epicor Software Corporation, the largest provider of enterprise and eBusiness software exclusively for midmarket companies, today announced the general availability of its eFrontoffice Web client, which allows field users to remotely access and update customer information over the from any Web browser. Epicor`s eFrontoffice Web client provides access to fully integrated front and back office information anytime, anywhere as remote entries are updated automatically throughout the application suite from the Web.

Epicor`s new eFrontOffice Web client leverages the power of the Internet for remote users while delivering consistent features and look and feel with its industry leading client server software. The delivery of the eFrontOffice Web client completes the first phase of Epicor`s to provide Web client for its entire "e by Epicor" line of products.

"Epicor`s new Web Client offers our company a huge advantage to field service personnel, telecommuters and employees at remote sites," said Fred Davisson, Professional Services at Liberty IMS. "They are able to easily and quickly access and update customer data. Because it requires nothing more than a browser, we will not need to undergo a lengthy or complicated installation on the desktop, and the ability to quickly view and update customer data will improve the level of customer service we can provide."

Though remote access to viewing data has been available with ClienteleNet, the new Web-based features have become possible through new DHTML (dynamic HTML) technology that allows Web users to make changes to content. The new Web client also streamlines information systems management since the administration and updates can take place on the server, rather than the desktop.

"Epicor is leading the way among CRM vendors by providing customers with the same look and feel as the standard version of Epicor eFrontOffice, powered by Clientele, "said John Hiraoka, senior vice president of marketing for epicor. "With ClienteleNet, users were able to browse data, but were restricted from making changes or entries. Now with DHTML, the right technology has come along to enable this additional functionality, which is critical for business` remote sales force and better service to their customers."
