Epicor debuts new Web services product architecture for CRM

Next-generation CRM architecture makes ease of deployment, integration and customisation realities for mid-market companies
Johannesburg, 05 Jun 2002

Epicor Software Corporation, a leading provider of integrated enterprise, e-business and collaborative commerce software solutions for mid-market companies, today unveiled a new Internet product architecture for its Clientele CRM solution, designed exclusively for the Microsoft .Net Platform.

The use of Microsoft .Net will allow Epicor`s customers to easily deploy Web-enabled applications that give businesses new levels of flexibility, control and inter-enterprise integration.

"It`s great to see the innovation that Epicor is bringing to CRM and enterprise applications for mid-market companies," said Charles Fitzgerald, General Manager, .Net Platform Strategy for Microsoft Corp. "We believe Epicor`s .Net-based architecture will benefit our mutual customers by bringing XML Web services to bear and enabling businesses to capitalise on the Internet in powerful new ways."

Epicor`s new product architecture takes advantage of all the .Net Platform has to offer, including rapid deployment, ease of application integration, flexibility, customisation, and extensibility through Microsoft Visual Studio .Net.

"For mid-market companies especially, the ability to be agile and adapt quickly to changing business conditions is vital," said George Klaus, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Epicor. "With our new Internet product architecture based on Microsoft .Net, we`re able to deliver highly flexible CRM functionality while lowering the total cost of ownership."

Klaus added: "The unveiling of our new CRM architecture marks a milestone in the strategic Web services initiatives we announced last October. Extending our market leadership and technology innovation, we are the first company to execute on the vision of .Net and we will continue to build on that vision. Our next generation of .Net-enabled applications use Web services to empower mid-market companies to solve real business problems by streamlining business operations and interactions with customers, suppliers, partners and employees - ultimately helping them gain market share, achieve operational excellence and improve their bottom line."
