Epicor`s pre-release version of its eBusiness suite incorporates a set of applications that permits companies to manage and integrate front office (CRM) and back office (ERP) management over the Internet. The Web-enabled application will integrate with a company`s front and back office, including Platinum ERA (financials, manufacturing and distribution), Clientele (Customer Relationship Management) and Platinum for Windows (for smaller companies). Business partners will be able to place and track orders on-line, as well as allow suppliers to view purchasing requirements in real time. Fields personnel will be able to access CRM data to track and update the status of service calls while sales reps. will be able to view their customer pipelines and gather prospect information on-line. This software also allows companies to build their own customer self-service applications such as viewing account information and submitting charge-of-address notifications via the web.
The eCRM strategy merges eBusiness and CRM offering a complete solution for the entire customer life cycle, from product research to purchase and inquiry to support , ultimately providing a better service to eBusiness customers utilising the Internet.
"Epicor is the only company that can demonstrate true eCRM capabilities for the mid-market today as we have the front office applications, including sales force automation and distribution and manufacturing, all supporting an eBusiness suite" said Mike Pennell, Vice-President of Product Marketing for Epicor.
Included in this suite is also a Customer Portal and Interactive CRM. This feature allows a customer, who is placing an order and has a question to ask a sales rep, to click a button on the Web page that immediately prompts the sales rep to call the customer back. They are both able to interactively share that same Web page while the customer is able to have his questions answered with the order being promptly executed.
Within the eBusiness suite is also a new eCommerce application called Storefront, which manages business -to -customer and business-to-business interactions. This unique service will offer customers item catalogues, order entry and order status information capabilities. Storefront, in conjunction with Epicor`s integrated front and back office applications, will provide companies with greater visibility into supply chain issues, order fulfiment and order customer history information so that reps can interact with customers more effectively.
During the first quarter of the Millennium, Storefront will include an additional virtual product demonstration and seminar function as well as technical support and service function.
