EPM Live, a US-based Microsoft and provider of SharePoint-based business productivity applications, has rolled out its South African software channel in Johannesburg.

According to the company, 40% of South African CIOs plan to dramatically reduce contractors and technology projects in their budgets. EPM Live says it aims to assist South African companies which are struggling with the contractions of a volatile economy.

“South African companies today need to be more dynamic than ever. With tightening budgets, organisations need to do more with less and manage all their work more effectively,” says Paul Viviers, main distributor for EPM Live in SA.

“The need to better prioritise investments, align resources and strategies, and effectively execute work has never been more important.”

Viviers claims South African organisations have taken steps to reduce expenditures on enterprise initiatives, realign projects with strategic priorities, and increase visibility of investment performance and actual benefit realisation.

“I have seen first-hand a marked change in the current economic climate that is forcing organisations to re-evaluate their current investment portfolio in light of mandates to cut spending by 10%, 20%, or even 30% and SA is no exception to the financial reality that has hit every corner of the world.”

Viviers says in order to weather the current turbulence in the market, on-time delivery and on-budget, immediate return is key to any organisation, without having to expand on resources. He adds that EMP Live is offering the local market a preconfigured and integrated solution which reduces risk and offers subscription-based, on-demand services.
