EPSON SA has revealed its latest scanner range line-up, featuring some of EPSON`s latest scanning technological advances, which the company believes will increase EPSON`s already substantial market share.

The EPSON Perfection 640U offers high quality 600x2400 dpi optical resolution with Micro Step Drive technology. It features an integrated 3-button panel with Copy, Scan and programmable Start buttons for added flexibility with the home, educational and USB computer users in mind. In addition, it contains 36-bit internal scanning capability for excellent colour reproduction, Easy Plug & Play USB Interface and Space-saving with Upright Support Base for storage. Furthermore, its easy to use EPSON Smart Panel which enables scanning to e-mail, OCR and Photo editing applications with just a few clicks.
For the more advanced home and business user the EPSON Perfection 1240U offers a higher 1200x2400 dpi optical resolution with low noise CCD and Micro Step Drive. It also features an integrated 3-button panel with Copy, Scan and programmable Start buttons for added flexibility, and has a 42-bit in/out scanning capability for excellent colour reproduction - an industry first. Moreover, its ultra fast scanning makes it a leader in its class. The Perfection 1240U also features an easy Plug & Play USB Interface, and the easy to use EPSON Smart Panel enables scanning to e-mail, OCR and Photo editing applications with just a few clicks.
The EPSON Perfection 1240U Photo has a 4x5-inch Film Adapter included for scanning negatives and slides, and replaces the extremely successful Perfection 1200 Photo. Just like the Perfection 1240U it has a high quality 1200x2400 dpi optical resolution with low noise CCD and Micro Step Drive, as well as an integrated 3-button panel with Copy, Scan and programmable Start buttons for added flexibility.

It offers advanced home and business users Ultra Fast Scanning - and is a leader in its class. It features 42-bit in/out scanning capability for excellent colour reproduction, easy to use EPSON Smart Panel enables scanning to e-mail, OCR and Photo editing applications with just a few clicks. Additionally it has in-built USB and SCSI interfaces, giving the user the choice of the simple plug & play solution, or the high speed advantages offered by SCSI and Start Button for easy one touch scanning
The EPSON Perfection 1640SU Photo offers the same functionality as the Perfection 1640SU plus a 4x5-inch Film Adapter included for scanning negatives and slides. It is designed with the budget-conscious professional photography and digital photography enthusiasts in mind.
The EPSON Perfection 1640SU Office offers the same functionality as the Perfection 1640SU plus a 30-sheet Built-in Automatic Document Feeder for the convenience of business users.
